The Importance of Downsizing!
Hello there friends! This is Mother Wit checking back in after taking a very long hiatus. Recently, my husband and I decided to prepare to downsize and move into a smaller home. It was indeed a serious undertaking, You never would know how much you have accumulated until you actually start to pull it out. We found items that were totally hidden from us. The decision to downsize is a real issue.
Now you have to let go of things that really only mean something to you. Ask yourself, will I ever use again? If you have kids, do my children want any of my things, including my furniture? What about my clothes, shoes, purses, jewelry? Well let me tell you, your children will only pass what's dear to you, right over to someone else or give it to Salvation Army.
Listen, I am trying to tell you. Give away those blouses, skirts, dresses, coats etc. You can only wear one outfit a day. Be a blessing to someone, anyone and everyone. I felt so good when I gave away tons of clothes, shoes, shoe boxes of jewelry, coats, dishes, and most of all, furniture. Yes, an entire living room, office desks and rolling file cabinets.
Listen Baby- Boomers, if you are 60 plus years old, let it go!!!! My husband and I downsized from a 5 bedroom house, full basement of furniture, garage full of tools and everything you can imagine. So, my husband took a major step and gave away so many of his tools including his tool caddy full of tools. Just let it go! We are more liberated than we have ever been.
So my friends, stay tuned for more talk on down sizing from Mother Wit! I have a lot more to tell you.

"The Merry Go Round"
" The Merry Go Round"
When I was a young girl, I simply loved the North Carolina State Fair. Mainly because of the infamous Merry Go Round. It was so astounding to sit on those shiny plastic horses. I felt so free and alive and actually believed I was going someplace. On the other hand, looking back on those days now, I see things totally different. I realize that all those times of riding that merry go round and having the fun of my life, I wasn't going any place. Just in a full circle.
Moreover, I am very concerned about adults who choose to stay on the Merry Go Round. They continue to keep going around and around with the same old dysfunctions of bad relationships, job struggles. unresolved family issues, mistrust, hate, and just simply, irritated.
Therefore, I strongly suggest to you to get off that Merry Go Round. Because you continue to see the same problems, people, dysfunctions, hurts and pains. So, I subscribe to you to move onto the highway of life. The highway of life teaches you wisdom because you are essentially moving forward. Wisdom is the ability to live life well and make good decisions. This is a gift from God and not something you gain on you own.
Finally, Merry Go Rounds are not healthy rides to take because eventually, you will get Dizzy!!!!!

What Time Is It?
I found myself asking this question several times on today. Mainly because I failed to turn some of my clocks back one hour. But the real question is, what time is it in your life? I know people today feel as if they are in charge of everything and that all power lies in their hands but not so fast with that thought! Someone wrote a song that said, "If I were in control of my life, I would work things out so much differently, there would be no pain, no hurt, no disappointments, but that just goes to show how little I know".
Well, that is not all of the song but you see what I am saying. As much as we think we pull all of life's strings, that is not a fact. Please know that there is a higher power we all have to be subject to. God is our source and without Him, we are nothing. Our deeds and works have only a temporal life, and in time will disappear. But the works and Word of God are forever (eternal ).
So as I close, keep God close to your heart so you may take Him everywhere you go. Trust me, you are going to need Him! This Sunday, find yourself a Church to attend and listen to what God has to say to you. Until next time........

Child Support !
Child Support!
Well this is a pretty touchy subject here but I must dive into it. My father had 18 children and he never have heard of child support. His definition of child support was feeding. clothing and keeping a roof over our heads. I am baffled as to why the US Courts have to make a dad take care of his child/children. What in the world has happened to our culture.
A father would rather quit his job, lose his home, go hungry rather than to just support the children he brought into the world. Can someone explain this to Mother Allen? I never did hear my father complain because he had children to take care of. He loved us conditionally. Dad didn't have a lot of money, in fact we were poor but just didn't know it. He was a farmer or in a better term, a share-cropper. He never owned any land of his own. But he never ever left us to fend for ourselves.
Fathers and I must say some mothers, just don't want to care for their children. You know Jesus told the disciples in Matthews 19:14 "Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven". He also said "the least you do unto these my little ones, you have done it unto me".
I had the opportunity to sit in a Child Support Court to listen to the cases and when I tell you I was so saddened to hear of the poor reasons why the fathers did not take care of their children even after been told by the courts they had to. Consequently some of these fathers were ordered to be incarcerated immediately. My Bishop of Greater Mt Calvary Holy Church has a profound slogan which is "Can't We Just All Get Along"? Ask God to remove the disdain you may have for your child's mom or dad and move on.
Well, this is all I'm going to say for now. But please get it together, our children are precious in God's sight and He will charge you for not caring for them.

"Why A Son Needs A Dad"? Part II
Why A Son Needs A Dad
Let us continue what Gregory E. Lang has said. More reasons why a son needs a dad is to:
- make the family whole.
- help him face his challenges with confidence.
- show him how to control his temper.
- tell him there is no disgrace in losing.
- show him how to compromise.
- tell him that all is not hopeless, even when it may seem that it is.
- nurture his independence.
- teach him that respect must be earned.
- so he will have at least one hero he can depend on.
- to share with him the wisdom he has not yet acquired.
- show him how to love others, even when it is hard.
- to prepare him for being responsible for his own family.
- teach him to treat women with kindness.
- teach him that men and women are equal.
- to provide the guidance that will steer him from trouble.
- help him understand it isn't necessary to be like everyone else.
- teach him when to lead and when to follow.
- to discipline him firmly and fairly, while loving him relentlessly.
- to teach him to avoid selfish temptations.
- to show him unconditional love.
Well my friends, I think this is enough to digest today. Please share this with other dads who perhaps need a little more wisdom with what to do and say to their sons. This is real!

"Why A Son Needs A Dad"
This is such an interesting book written by Gregory E. Lang. I am ever disappointed when I see dads who seem to think their boys don't need them. Are you really serious? Boys are forever looking at and following the examples of their fathers.
I am ever so moved when I see a father carrying their son with pride and dignity or walking with their son holding their little hands with so much love. So consequently, these little boys grow up with the same mind and love toward their children. I want to share with you some reasons Gregory E. Lang gives us for why a son needs a dad.
A Son Needs A Dad-
- to teach him to be gracious winner as well as a gracious loser.
- to show him how to be productive with his hands.
- to teach him how to talk with girls.
- to teach him to apologize for reckless words.
- to pull him back when he is headed in the wrong direction.
- to listen when others have grown tired of listening.
- to tell him that he is proud of him.
- to tech him to always give a good days work.
- to encourage him when he meets with disappointment.
- to teach him that it is wise to seek advice.
- to help him learn from his mistakes.
Now this is all I am giving you right now fellows. I want you to digest all of this for a while and think about it. This is real !!!!!
Blessings,
Mother Allen

Do Good!
Do all the good you can,
In all the ways you can,
In all the places you can,
At all times you can,
To all people you can,
As long as you ever can.
John Wesley
Essentially, this is how the Lord want us to be. Don't waist your time on things that don't matter. Seek to do good and I promise you before you can turn around, goodness will be returned back to you. Someone once said "There is no better exercise for the heart than reaching down and lifting someone else up. Lets step outside of ourselves and just do good without looking for a return. Be Bless,
Mother Allen
